The myTQM benchmarking layer
Know where your home stands.
The Benchmarking Network turns quality data from across Scottish social care into honest, anonymised comparison. Every home can see where it stands against its peers and where to improve, through the Scottish Care Home Quality Network.
What the Benchmarking Network is
Comparison the sector can trust.
A care home can audit itself thoroughly and still not know whether good is good enough. Averages hide as much as they show, and league tables expose homes rather than help them. The Benchmarking Network takes a different path. It turns consented, anonymised data from across the sector into fair comparison, so a home learns from its peers without any home being named.
What it does
Benchmarking built to be fair.
Six capabilities that turn raw quality data into comparison a manager can act on.
Anonymised comparison
Compare against the sector without any home being identified to another.
Multi-domain framework
Quality measured consistently across every domain of care home performance.
Composite quality score
A single comparable score built from weighted domain performance.
Peer benchmarking
See where a home stands against comparable homes, not a blunt average.
Improvement targeting
Find the domains where focused effort will move the score most.
Sector intelligence
Sector wide trends that show how Scottish care quality is moving.
Where you stand
Your position, in honest context.
The Benchmarking Network shows a home its quality position across every domain, set against comparable homes rather than a blunt sector average. Strengths and gaps are clear, and the picture moves as the home improves.
- Domain by domain position against comparable peers
- Strengths and gaps both made visible
- A picture that updates as the home improves
Fair by design
Anonymised, consented, never a league table.
Every home that takes part chooses to, and no home is ever identified to another. Data is anonymised before it is compared, and the network exists to help homes improve, not to rank them. It is the same principle myTQM applies across the platform.
- Participation is by consent
- Homes are compared, never named
- Built to support improvement, not to rank
The network
Delivered through the Scottish Care Home Quality Network.
The Benchmarking Network is delivered through SCHQN, the Scottish Care Home Quality Network. SCHQN is a sector-led network that brings care homes together around a shared quality framework, and the Benchmarking Network is how a myTQM home takes part.
